Sexism in CS Education is More Subtle than You Might Think

In addition, when you diminish your female colleagues through your words or actions, you take away moments to build confidence.  Something as simple as using affectionate names like "Sweetie" or treating a woman like a sexual pursuit rather than a business partner can make her feel diminished as a member of your team.

Keep these things in mind when "joking around" with colleagues that you haven't already established a secure relationship with.
